Move-In Arrival Times

Our main move-in days (August 17-20) will begin each day at 10:00 a.m. The time slots will be set 15 minutes apart to allow everyone to move through our check-in station. We ask that you do not come before your specific time. You will not be allowed to check-in earlier than your assigned time.

Early arrival groups will need to sign up for a check-in time. Please see the schedule above for specific check-in times. All early arrival groups prior to August 17-20 will report to their residence hall/Pannell Apartment Office/Pointe Clubhouse for check in.

Check-in Process - August 17-20

Instead of residents checking in at their assigned on-campus community, we will be doing a centralized, drive-thru, check-in process. We will be holding the check-in process in the Pete Mathews Coliseum parking lot. When you arrive at our check-in station, you will follow the signage that will direct you to your residence hall or apartment lane.

The check-in process:

  1. Arrive at your registered move-in time.
  2. Show your photo ID and and confirmation email from your check-in.
  3. Complete our online form to accept your assignment and sign the roster online.
  4. Receive your key packet and important information regarding residential living.

Arrival and Unloading Belongings

For move-in weekend (August 17-20), after you receive your key packet from our Housing Operations and Residence Life Staff, you may then proceed to your on-campus housing assignment. Before you arrive on campus, we recommend putting labels on your items, with your name and room number, so they do not get mixed in with other residents' items.

Please note: We will not be providing volunteers to assist in this year's move-in process.

What should I bring?

Check out our What to Bring checklist to see what items we recommend for on-campus living. Also, be sure to read our Guide to Residence Living to see what is not allowed in on-campus housing.

To gain access to the residence halls, we are only requiring residents to swipe their student ID at the security card reader.

2022 Move-In FAQS

Your financial responsibilities for The Pointe @ JSU will include (but not limited to) semesterly housing charges for the fall, spring, and summer terms. These charges are accessed to student accounts each semester. For semester due dates, visit the Academic Calendar.

You will have as long as you need to move your items in after you pick up your key at our centralized check-in station at the Pete Mathews Coliseum parking lot.

If you are approved to move in early by being one of the designated groups listed above, you will report directly to your hall to check in. If you are moving into an apartment area (Campus Inn, Colonial Arms, Mountain Street Homes/Goodlett Avenue, Pannell Hall, or Penn House Apartments), you will check in at the Pannell Hall Apartment main office, then go to your housing assignment. The Pointe @ JSU early move-in groups will report to The Pointe Clubhouse for check in. You will be able to move in on your designated early move in day.

Because we are only checking in certain halls and apartments on specific days, we cannot allow anyone to come on a different day. You may schedule a late check-in time if you are unable to come on your designated day. Late check-in times can be coordinated with your Residence Life Coordinator.

Contact us at,  and we can assist you with your confirmation email.

Marching Southerners will move into their fall assignments on Friday, August 5, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

You will need a photo ID for the check-in process. If you were not able to get your ID at Gamecock Orientation, the ID Office will be open 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. on August 17-19 and 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on August 20.

Once we assess housing charges to student accounts, you will automatically have a dining plan added to your account. You may choose which plan you want by visiting Campus Dining Services.

If you cancel your fall assignment, we cannot carry it over to the spring, nor can we guarantee the same assignment will be available in the spring semester. You will need to cancel before August 1 to ensure housing charges are not assessed to your student account.

Charges will be assessed to student accounts beginning in June 2022.

We are still making assignments and receiving cancellations daily. Students who do not claim their assignments during move-in weekend will forfeit their assignments. We will reassign those spaces to students on the waiting list on the morning of Monday, August 22.
