New Students

Arrival and Orientation

International students under F1/J1 status cannot arrive more than 30 days before the program start date as listed on the I-20/DS2019. International Students are required to plan their travel in timely manner so that they could attend Mandatory International Orientation upon their arrival.

Fall 2020 

Online Orientation available on & after: August 12, 2020
Classes Start: August 18, 2020

Spring 2021

Orientation: January 08, 2021
Classes Start: January 12, 2021

Please read the Pre-Arrival Guide for the information on JSU email, Visa types, Immigration process, final transcript submission, housing options, expenses you need to be prepared for, placement tests you may have to complete. The guide will also help you with information on what to expect at the port of entry when you arrive in the United States, travelling to JSU, reporting to the international office, orientation, health insurance requirement, request to change program, tuition and fees, employment information and information on disability services.

*Students should be prepared to stay in a hotel upon arrival at least for one night. Hotel costs will be the responsibility of the student.  (Some students may have to stay in the hotel for more than one night if they do not have a confirmed room assignment.)

*Late Arrival can result in a student unable to enroll, or secure a housing assignment.
