New for '22Jacksonville State University has recently implemented several changes within dining services and our faculty, staff, and student ID card system to help expand and improve services across campus. As we launch these services across our campus community, refer to this list of frequently asked questions for the most up-to-date information on dining, the Kiwibots, and the new ID card system.

Make sure you look at the course materials that you’ll need for each class you’re taking this Fall. You can access this information on your class syllabus or by visiting the on-campus bookstore either in-person or online.
Ordering Parking DecalsPlease make sure you have ordered your parking decals for the 2022-2023 school year. Decals from 2021-2022 expire on August 31st, 2022. To access the parking registration portal, log in to your MyJSU account and select “Parking Decal”. Upon submitting your online order, you will immediately receive a temporary decal via email to print and display until your official decal arrives. Persons who have a JTAG (JSU license plate) will need to bring their vehicle registration to the parking office to pick up their decal. If you do not have a JTAG, your decal will be mailed to the address you provided in your vehicle registration.
Know Your Parking ZoneRed Faculty/Staff Zones: Spaces painted with red lines are reserved for faculty and staff parking only.
Student Parking Zone: Any legal parking space on JSU property that has white painted striped lines - with no other signs designating the space as reserved - is open to students. Any space with reserved signage may only be occupied by the designated vehicle listed on the accompanying sign. A grace period will exist the first two weeks of class to learn the parking zones around campus. Citations for all parking violations will begin September 1st.
Handicapped Zones: Spaces painted with blue striped lines are reserved for handicapped parking.

If you want to continue having fun in the ‘Ville, there are a few deadlines to keep in mind regarding Financial Aid and your student account:
- Payment Deadline is August 30th at 11:59pm. Please be sure to check your JSU email for communication regarding outstanding balances and aid requirements.
- The Office of Student Accounts will begin processing refunds during the first week of September.
- Wondering if you qualify for Federal Work Study? Stop by the Student Employment Fair on September 1, 2022, in the TMB Auditorium between 10-2pm to find out if you’re eligible.
JSU will host a Student Employment Fair on Sept. 1, 2022, from 10-2pm, in the TMB Auditorium. Bring a copy of your resume, meet future employers, and apply on-site for on-campus opportunities this academic year. Check the Human Resources website for a current list of openings.
Sodexo is also hiring cooks, line servers, supervisors, dining attendants, dishwashers, catering assistants and other staff to work in full-time and part-time positions in dining facilities across campus. For more information, stop by Jack Hopper Dining Hall or the TMB Food Court. Positions are listed on dining.jsu.edu and indeed.com.
How can I notify the University Police Department if I feel unsafe on campus?
In the new Cocky Watch App there is a panic button that goes where you on your cell phone. The app's main function is the screen's red panic button in the top left corner. The panic button sends your information directly to the Campus Police Department and is monitored 24/7. The panic button has three options when selected. All three options will send your information to UPD. The first option also automatically calls UPD at 256-782-5050. The second option is for emergencies off-campus; it will send your information to UPD and calls 911. The last option is a silent alert that sends your information to UPD and is for situations where you may not be able to talk on the phone.

The Student Success Center provides a range of academic support services which include tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, academic workshops, and mentoring. JSU offers FREE tutoring to all students regardless of grade point average or classification.
How do I receive free tutoring on campus?
- Tutoring is available for any JSU student for most core courses
- Tutoring is FREE as long as you are a JSU student
- Students will need to schedule an In-Person or Virtual Tutoring appointment using JSU Navigate
- In-Person Appointments will take place in the Student Success Center, located at the Houston Cole Library, 2nd Floor (256-782-8223)
