My Personal Experience: Throughout the week-long program, I had the opportunity to network with accomplished attorneys and judges, attend nine law school classes, and work alongside current law students. I also participated in sessions covering some of the realities of attending law school, including LSAT preparation, financial planning, bar exam preparation, career development, and admissions.

One of the highlights of the program was the opening statement exercise. Throughout the week, we studied a case, developed our arguments, and ultimately presented opening statements before our peers. This experience gave me a realistic glimpse into the work and preparation that goes into practicing law.

What stood out most to me was the passion and engagement of every participant. In many academic settings, students have varying levels of interest and involvement, but at the Cumberland Connection Law School Immersion Program, everyone shared an academic fervor that I have yet to see anywhere else. It gave me a glimpse into the type of environment and peers I can expect to encounter in law school.

Going into the program, I knew I would leave either reassured about my future plans or with some major decisions to make. Fortunately, I left feeling more confident than ever in my decision to pursue law school.

I cannot recommend this program highly enough to anyone even slightly considering a legal career. The experience was both informative and inspiring, and it solidified my excitement for the future.

My Personal Experience: My week spent at the Cumberland Connection Law School Immersion Program (CCP) was nothing short of amazing. As a first-generation student who was not always on a pre-law track, opportunities like CCP have given me the chance to see all that law school has to offer. Through conversations with law professors, judges, and a variety of legal professionals, I gained valuable firsthand insight into what law school and a legal career would truly entail. Not only did the program further motivate me to pursue a career in law, it also gave me confidence in knowing that this path is right for me.

Although a law school immersion program may sound intimidating, CCP did an excellent job of creating an inclusive environment for students from all academic backgrounds and career interests. Regardless of your major, anyone can pursue a legal education and participate in this program. I highly recommend CCP to everyone, even those who are not completely certain that law school is their next step. I returned home excited for the journey ahead, and I believe anyone who participates in the program will leave feeling the same way!
