JSU Ensembles

At Jax State, music is more than performance. Our ensembles bring students together from across campus to create, collaborate, and pursue excellence at the highest level. From concert halls to stadium lights, Jax State musicians represent the spirit and sound of The Friendliest Campus in the South. Guided by dedicated faculty and united by a shared passion for music, each rehearsal builds skill, each performance builds confidence, and every member finds a place to belong.

Recording Studio

Constructed in 2017, the JSU Mason Hall Recording Studio provides recording and educational services for JSU faculty, students, and staff while producing independent, creative projects focusing especially on new, instrumental tracks.  Ideal for recording anything from solo instrumental and vocal tracks to small ensembles in our studio, the JSU Mason Hall Recording Studio also has the ability to record large ensembles in the JSU Mason Hall Performance Center.  

Vintage Sweater Records is the creative / production branch of the Jacksonville State University Mason Hall Recording Studio managed by James Woodward.  It is our goal to provide students, staff, and faculty an opportunity to begin releasing their creative projects through streaming services and online platforms.
