Dual Enrollment Scholarships

Current and newly admitted Dual Enrollment students can complete a competitive application for Dual Enrollment scholarships. There are three scholarship opportunities available.

General Dual Enrollment Scholarship

  • JSU awards 250 scholarships in both the Fall and Spring terms that pay for a 3-credit hour course, currently $498. 
  • Can be used toward tuition for any dual enrollment eligible course. 
  • Application can be found in the students’ MyJSU account under View/Apply for Scholarships. Application requirements include a written essay. 
  • The Fall 2023 General Dual Enrollment scholarship is open from February 1 - March 31.

J-STEAM Dual Enrollment Scholarship

  • Sponsored by a grant, the J-STEAM scholarship covers tuition and book fees for program approved courses. 
  • Courses available for Fall 2023 include ART 130: Creative Thinking and ED 104: Teaching for the Future: STEAM in K-12 Education 
  • Application can be found in the students’ MyJSU account under View/Apply for Scholarships. Application requirements include a written essay. 
  • The Fall 2023 J-STEAM scholarship is open from February 1 – March 31. Availability for scholarship awards after the March 31st deadline will be based on funding and course capacity.

Dual Enrollment Student Representative Scholarship

The JSU Dual Enrollment Student Representative program is a leadership organization that that consists of dual enrollment students from high schools in our service area. These students meet monthly for team building and leadership development as well as assist JSU with various dual enrollment events in their high school and on JSU’s campus. We will select up to 25 students each academic year to serve as dual enrollment student representatives through an application process. Student representatives will be awarded a scholarship each fall and spring semester for one dual enrollment course. Applications are due by March 31, 2023.

  • Students must have successfully completed at least one JSU DE course in order to be eligible to apply for the DE Student Rep Program. Please email dualenrollment@jsu.edu if you have any questions about your eligibility.
  • DE Reps receive a tuition scholarship both fall and spring semesters for a 3-credit hour course each, currently $498. 
  • Can be used toward tuition for any dual enrollment eligible course.
  • Students must complete the both the General Dual Enrollment Scholarship Application, which can be found in the students’ MyJSU account under View/Apply for Scholarships, and the DE Student Representative Application. A letter of recommendation and introduction video are also required for applications to be complete. 
  • The 2023-2024 Dual Enrollment Student Representative scholarship application is open from February 1 – March 31.
