Message from the Provost
Jacksonville State University is a learning-centered institution that strives to challenge students academically in a responsive environment, meeting students’ educational, career, and personal goals. It is in the Division of Academic Affairs that this component of the university’s mission statement is most prominent. Through its five academic Colleges, a library, a student success center, a graduate school, an honors program, a Faculty Commons, Online@JSU, dual enrollment, and off-campus programs and sites, the Division of Academic Affairs delivers academic programs and services that prepare students to be productive, responsible citizens, and effective leaders.
Academically, JSU offers over 95 undergraduate degrees and programs, including 12 undergraduate microcredentials and certificates and 12 online undergraduate degrees. Additionally, we have over 80 graduate degrees and programs spanning from master’s degrees to doctoral degrees, including 14 graduate microcredentials and certificates and over 50 online graduate degrees. All of these prepare graduates for meaningful careers and ongoing education.
In addition to our commitment to offering high-quality academic programs, we also pledge to have only qualified faculty teaching our courses, where class size is kept manageable and faculty can get to know each student. Our promise to provide state-of-the-art academic instruction is fulfilled in re-designed learning spaces, ongoing professional development in new methods of instruction, and in the use of technology for learning. Creating and sustaining a learning environment that gives students a competitive edge needed for 21st Century careers is a continuous goal for the Division of Academic Affairs. We look forward to having you join us on your academic journey!
