Outside Scholarships

Outside Scholarships are those offered by individual donors or organizations. These scholarship checks should be mailed to the Financial Aid Office. You must provide your full name and JSU Student ID number. Outside scholarships may affect the amount of federal financial aid for which you are eligible.

Birmingham Promise Scholarship

In partnership with Birmingham Promise, Jacksonville State University accepts the Birmingham Promise Scholarship for students who are admitted to Jax State as first-time, full-time freshmen in the academic year directly following high school graduation from a Birmingham City School, beginning with the graduating high school class of 2020 and continuing for subsequent graduating classes.  

Any high school senior who is enrolled at the following Birmingham City schools can apply for the Birmingham Promise Scholarship: George Washington Carver, Huffman, Jackson-Olin, A H Parker, Ramsey, Wenonah, and Woodlawn. Graduates of Birmingham City Schools starting in 2020 are eligible.

Enrollment Verifications

Some scholarship donors require you to send them an Enrollment Verification before funds can be sent to JSU. For information on Enrollment Verification, please visit the Registrar's Office website.
