Outside Scholarships

A wide range of external scholarships are available for students. These scholarships can be funded by foundations, business, donors, and other organizations outside of Jax State. Outside scholarships can be a great way to help pay for college.

When searching for additional scholarship opportunities, start locally! Many employers, local organizations, clubs, etc. offer scholarships. Some businesses may even provide scholarships to employees' children. Other organizations like Elks Club, Lions Club, and Boy or Girl Scouts of America often have scholarships available as well.

It's also a good idea to explore scholarships connected to your future career field. Professional associations, social organizations, and specific industry groups often provide financial support to students preparing to enter their professions.

Check out some of the free scholarship websites below:

If you are awarded an outside scholarship, the check should be mailed directly to the Jax State Financial Aid Office. Be sure to include your full name and Jax State Student ID number so it can be applied correctly. Please note that receiving outside scholarships may affect the amount of federal financial aid you are eligible to receive.
