NEW for 2011-2012 - Elimination of Year Round Pell Grants

NEW for 2012-2013 VERIFICATION CHANGES and LOAN CHANGES

Approximately 83% of our students receive some type of financial aid. So there is ample opportunity for students who seek financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.) A FAFSA is used to determine a student's need/eligibility for financial aid. Since JSU will prepare a financial aid package only after receipt of the results of the FAFSA and any additional paperwork that may be required, it is recommended that each applicant to the university complete their financial aid file before the March 15 priority deadline. Students may continue to complete their financial aid files after this date, but may not be awarded prior to the tuition due date if completed after July. Be sure to have your application for admission to JSU completed first!

Our Office is here to assist you with any concerns or questions you may have about the financial aid process. Please click the FAQ & Hints tab to see if your question has already been answered, or contact our office.

Book Vouchers will not be available during the Summer Terms.

Students who choose to participate in the electronic direct deposit (EDD) will have their refunds earlier than those who will receive paper checks at the Campus Mail Center. Refund checks for students who have satisfied their balance and are on financial aid, scholarships, or have an outside organization paying their tuition, housing, and/or fee could be delayed up to two weeks. If there is a detail line "Refund" reflected on your account, a check is being processed and should be distributed within 14 business days.
