Jacksonville State University's Student Government Association represents the student body within the university administration and the community. Since 1946, SGA has worked to provide an intellectual, social, and cultural student experience that will enhance student growth and success.
Every student who is enrolled at JSU is a member of the SGA.

The SGA Spring Election is your opportunity to make your voice heard as a student at Jacksonville State University. This election includes SGA Executive positions, Student Senate candidates, and the selection of Miss and Mr. Jax State, as well as Mr. and Miss Friendly. Each of these roles plays an important part in shaping the student experience on campus.
From student events and campus traditions to advocacy and student engagement, the 2026 to 2027 SGA team will serve as key decision makers representing the student body. Their leadership directly impacts campus life, student involvement opportunities, and the overall direction of student initiatives at Jax State.

How to Get Involved
Any student can get involved in the SGA by going to the Dean of Students Office in 402 Theron Montgomery Building. By getting involved, you can contribute to the decision making process concerning different activities and policies that impact students.
There are three branches of student government comprised of various committees all with the common goal of improving the quality of student life. You can become part of these groups!
