Senior Director of Housing Operations and Residence Life

Brooke Lyon serves as the Senior Director of Housing Operations and Residence Life at Jacksonville State University. A proud two-time alumna of Jax State, Mrs. Lyon holds both a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree from the institution.

Mrs. Lyon began her career at Jax State in 2004 as a Residence Life Coordinator, managing Logan and Patterson Halls. In 2008, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Student Development and Educational Programming, where she led initiatives focused on student growth and engagement while also overseeing the housing assignments process. During this time, she played a key role in the implementation of Jax State’s first online housing software, enabling students to apply for and select housing entirely online.

In 2016, Mrs. Lyon was appointed Director of Housing Operations, and in 2024, she assumed her current role as Senior Director. In her current capacity, Mrs. Lyon believes in the transformational power of the residential experience. She, along with her team, strives to cultivate a home away from home for Jax State students where students feel comfortable, safe, and valued.
