EMCETS Scholarship
The MCIS Department offers up to 20 academic scholarships each year to encourage undergraduate and graduate students to pursue degrees in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or Mathematics. Support for the EMCETS Scholars Program is provided by the National Science Foundation through a Division of Undergraduate Education (DUE) grant #DUE-0122767. The scholarship program was authorized by the American Competitiveness and Workforce Improvement Act of 1998 to increase the number of U.S. citizens who graduate in high technology fields. In addition to financial support, students selected as EMCETS Scholars will participate in a program that includes mentoring, academic assistance, and career-related experiences.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an United States citizen, national, or alien admitted as a refugee at the time of application;
- Be eligible for Federal Financial Aid or for Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need (GAANN);
- Be enrolled full time in one of the Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems, or Electronics Technology programs of study leading to either a Bachelor's or Master's Degree;
- Be academically talented as demonstrated by grade point average, class rank, and or ACT/SAT scores.

The application form for the EMCETS Scholarship is available as a PDF document. In order to be considered for the scholarship for the Fall 2010 semester, all application materials must be received by March 15, 2010.
