Adopted Operating Procedures
The following documents constitute adopted operating procedures of the Jacksonville State University Faculty Senate. These procedures are subordinate to the Faculty Senate Constitution and Bylaws and describe the Senate’s established practices for conducting its work. Operating procedures do not amend the Constitution or Bylaws and do not limit the Senate’s authority. The Faculty Senate may review or revise these procedures at any time by majority vote.
Faculty Senate Issue Resolution Process (Three-Step Pathway)
The JSU Faculty Senate follows a preferred three-step process for addressing faculty concerns and requests with the administration. This process is adopted as an operating procedure of the Faculty Senate, consistent with Robert’s Rules of Order, to guide how the Senate typically exercises its authority while encouraging collaboration and timely resolution of issues.
Faculty Senate Committee Guidelines for Investigative Functions
These guidelines are intended to assist Faculty Senate committees in developing effective strategies for carrying out their investigative functions. They are designed to support committee work and do not limit the general authority or responsibilities of committees as established in the Faculty Senate Constitution and Bylaws.
