Chris Murtagh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation Department. He received his Master’s Degree from Westfield State University, Massachusetts and his Doctorate Degree in Social Policy from Brandeis University, Massachusetts. Prior to joining the faculty at Jacksonville State University in 2017, he worked for thirty-two years as a police officer in Framingham, Massachusetts. During his career as a police officer he was assigned to the Patrol Division, Street Crimes/Gang Unit, and the Crime Analysis/Intelligence Unit. His specialized assignments include over twenty years on the Underwater Recovery Unit and ten years on the SWAT Team.
