Foreign Languages Placement
Students with prior exposure to French or Spanish should take the placement exam offered by the Foreign Languages program. Students who take the exam, register for the identified course, and complete
that course with a grade of A or B are eligible for course credit for the lower-level (100-, 200-) language courses up to 12 hours.
Heritage/native speakers of French or Spanish should contact the department for placement. Heritage/native speakers who complete the appropriate course (as advised by the department) with an A or B are eligible for course credit for the lower-level (100-, 200-) language courses up to 12 hours.
