Early History

“Know one another and you will love one another”

1946: IH program started with 4 foreign students in the program

1949: International House-Maison Internationale constructed by gifts from Alabama Citizens

1953: International Endowment Foundation board was formed

1964: Col. Clarence W. Daugette Jr president of the Board of Trustees of the International House Foundation contributed to the construction of the present building that accommodates 40 students.
