Laura Cartee, who resides in Steele, AL with her husband and two children, came to Jacksonville State University in 2016. During her time in undergraduate studies, Laura worked as a consultant in the Writing Center and was a member of the Writers Club. After obtaining a Bachelor of Art in Integrated Studies, Laura returned to JSU to complete a Master of Art in English. During this time, she served as a Graduate Assistant in the Writing Center, a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the English Department, and as the fiction editor for Something Else, JSU's literary journal. In the Fall of 2021, Laura began teaching in the English Department full time as a Visiting Instructor.
