I am a two-time graduate of Jacksonville State University and have a deep-rooted appreciation for the community, quality, culture and camaraderie of JSU. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Science in Education – General Science, Secondary Education – from JSU. I also obtained a Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and a have been a member of the Alabama State Bar since 2007. I entered the legal field as an associate attorney, working for multiple law firms between 2008 – 2013. However, my passion for chemistry and desire to teach at the university I loved brought me back to JSU. I first began working in the Chemistry and Geosciences department in 2015 as a laboratory assistant and have since worked as a graduate teaching assistant, adjunct instructor and chemistry laboratory instructor in the chemistry department.

I am committed to a teaching philosophy that makes the learning experience for students positive and exciting and I encourage a collaborative classroom – between instructor and student and student-to-student. Identifying every challenge as an opportunity for growth and learning, I hope to pass this mindset, along with my enthusiasm for chemistry, onto my students.
