Scroggins, Fielding and Thompson Publish National University Physical Plant Operations Survey

Two JSU Business Professors/Administrators and JSU’s Physical Plant Assistant Director published the results of a major national study of university physical plant operations. The study shows the best case scenario for physical plant operations under severe budget constraints. The study also presents the implications of the “green footprint” of a university.

Freddy Mederos, fourth from right, was the winner of a tailgate party preceding the UT Chattanooga football game on September 8. To qualify for the prize drawing, Freddy signed up for JaXSpots, JSU's new student rewards program.
 
Little River Canyon Center invites public to raise new flags, welcome new Superintendent, and tour new Exhibit

On Saturday, September 15, at 9:30 a.m., the Jacksonville State University Little River Canyon Center will host a flag raising ceremony beside its recently added flag poles. During the ceremony, Canyon Center Director Pete Conroy will welcome Gail Bishop, the newly assigned Superintendent of the Little River Canyon National Preserve and Russell Cave National Monument.

Blackboard Connect Test Will Be Conducted on September 19

Jacksonville State University utilizes Blackboard Connect as the official Emergency Alert System. Blackboard Connect is capable of sending thousands of messages within minutes by emailing, text messaging, phone calls, and social media. The system will only be used when there is a severe threat to public safety and when immediate action is required.

Dr. Rob Landry is New Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Legal Studies Education

Dr. Landry replaces Tonia Hap Murphy of the University of Notre Dame. He will serve in this position for two years and lead a staff of 65 editors and reviewers.
