CALLING ALL SINGERS!
The Calhoun County Civic Chorale is looking for New Members for Its Fall 2012 Season.
On Monday, September 10, 2012 the Calhoun County Civic Chorale will begin rehearsals for its winter concert entitled, Carols of the Season. The featured work will be the Ceremony of Carols along with other music of the season. Harpist Katherine Newman of Huntsville will be our guest artist.
Rehearsals are held Monday evenings, starting September 10th from 7:15 p.m. until 9:15 p.m., in the Performance Center of Mason Hall on the Jacksonville State University campus. The first rehearsal is a New Member Open House, where interested singers are invited to come see what the Chorale is like without further obligation. The concert is scheduled for Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels in Anniston, AL.
The Chorale is under the direction of Jacksonville State University Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Patricia Corbin and is accompanied by Meg Griffin. It is also one of five choral ensembles sponsored by the David L. Walters Department of Music. Chorale dues are $30 and music will be loaned to you for the semester
The Chorale is looking for singers who:
1. Have voices that can sing in tune and blend well with others.
2. Are able to learn their individual vocal part from written music.
3. Enjoy singing choral masterworks.
4. Are able to commit to regular rehearsal attendance.
College students may participate in the Chorale for college credit. Please register for Chorus 221, MU 196, or MU 396. Talented high school students are also welcome to join with the recommendation of their high school director.
