Cara Archer

Cara is a local of Piedmont, Alabama. She is a first-generation college graduate who started her studies at Gadsden State Community College before transferring to Jacksonville State University to obtain her bachelor's degree in marketing. At Gadsden State and Jax State, she was involved with their international clubs, Students without Boarders and International Student Organization respectively. Cara is the first student at Jax State to receive the Gilman Scholarship. She used this to study abroad in South Korea during summer 2024 through the International House and Programs at Kookmin University.

During her time at Jax State, Cara discovered her passion for travel and learning about the different cultures of the world. She wants to help international students have a smooth transition into American culture for a positive experience to Jax State, similar to how she was accepted during her time abroad.

Cara's has many hobbies that include listening to music, Zumba/line dancing, and playing video games. When the weather is nice, she likes to kayak at Terrapin Creek or spend time outdoors with her dogs. To communicate with her international friends, currently, she is self-studying Korean and Spanish.
