Community Partners

We invites all of our campus community and Calhoun community members to get involved with the Office of the International House & Programs. Jax State has a rich history of international students coming from all over the world. Jax State students deserve to experience the diverse culture and enhance their learning about differences and similarities among the diverse culture. Likewise, international students come to Jax State not only to get a degree but to experience American culture.

International House & Programs work with faculties, staff at JSU, different church groups, or any other volunteers in the community who are willing to assist and establish a relationship with international students such as a host family, transportation assistance, picnic, etc. Our office would be the point of contact, and we would get the information you would like us to message the international students. The students would directly email your organization contact. Your organization would be responsible for the RSVPS and organization of the event.

Some of the activities the community volunteers can organize and students are:

  • Host Family- (Inviting a student to a meal at their home or providing homestay options during the vaious university breaks.)
  • Family Picnic
  • Movies
  • Family Game night
  • Dinner/Lunch
  • Watch games/sports
  • Trips
  • Airport transportation

To volunteer, we request the interested member of the organization to email the Director of the International House & Programs at igalinat@jsu.edu.
