The Secondary Education – Mathematics Education program supports the JSU learning-centered mission through the development of highly qualified teachers who are well-prepared to instruct a diverse student population using the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required by professional educators. 

  • Graduates are qualified for a Class B Professional Teaching Certificate in the State of Alabama
    • Successful completion of the Mathematics Education Program qualifies teacher candidates for certification in Secondary Mathematics Education (Grades 6-12).
  • The program includes specialized training in the teaching of general and advanced mathematics at the middle school and high school levels.
