First Year Mentor Application

Serving as a Peer Mentor will give you the opportunity to grow your leadership skills, communication skills, general Jax State knowledge, and your confidence. This program will give you an opportunity to work alongside a faculty/staff member at Jax State and make connections with first year students. The number one goal is to help align upper level students with an instructor to help positively impact the SSC 101 experience.

Mentors will be paired with a faculty/staff instructor and will attend the SSC 101 class weekly throughout the fall 2026 semester. If selected, mentors will attend a training session on April 9th and August 11th, and will have to enroll in SSC 301, a one hour elective leadership course.
