First Year Mentor Application

Serving as a First Year Mentor will give you the opportunity to grow your leadership skills, communication skills, general JSU knowledge, and your confidence. This program will give you an opportunity to work alongside a faculty/staff member at JSU and make connections with first year students. The number one goal is to help align upper level students with an instructor to help positively impact the SSC 101 experience.

Mentors will be paired with a faculty/staff instructor and will attend the SSC 101 class weekly throughout the fall 2024 semester. If selected, mentors will attend a training session in April and August and will have the option to enroll in SSC 301, a one hour elective leadership course.

Applications are due March 15th at 4:00 PM.
