APEX Accelerator
The APEX Accelerator at Jax State is co-located with the Alabama SBDC at Jax State and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the Department of War (DOW). The Center assists small and large businesses, including disadvantaged and woman-owned businesses, in obtaining and performing under federal, state, and local government contracts.
APEX Accelerator provides technical assistance by offering counseling on selling products and/or services to the government. This counseling usually focuses on topics such as: understanding solicitation requirements, locating specifications and standards, and registering with the System For Award Management Registration (SAM) database. The Center also provides assistance with owner certifications, i.e. women owned business, veteran owned business, etc.
Workshops and conferences are also held periodically at various locations to assist businesses in becoming more familiar with the procurement process.
Small business owners can learn more about bid opportunities through the Center’s electronic bid matching system. This service searches government databases for matches with a firm’s product or service. Results of these daily searches are provided to the business owner via email.
