These training programs provide a deeper look into what it means to lead America’s Soldiers.

Advanced Camp

Advanced Camp

The Cadet Summer Training Advanced Camp is annually held at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The U.S. Army’s largest training exercise, Advanced Camp is the U.S. Army Cadet Command’s capstone training event.  The purpose of the course is to train U.S. Army ROTC Cadets to Army standards, to develop their leadership skills, and to evaluate their officer potential. Most Army Cadets attend Advanced Camp between their junior and senior undergraduate years after having contracted to join the Army. Successful completion of Advanced Camp is a prerequisite to becoming an Army officer through ROTC

Air Assault

Air Assault School

U.S. Army Air Assault School is a 10-day course designed to prepare Soldiers for insertion, evacuation, and pathfinder missions that call for the use of multipurpose transportation and assault helicopters. Air Assault training focuses on the mastery of rappelling techniques and sling load procedures, skills that involve intense concentration and a commitment to safety and preparation.

Airborne

Airborne School (ABN)

A 3-week course, also known as Basic Airborne Course (BAC), teaches Soldiers the techniques involved in parachuting from airplanes and landing safely. The final test includes a non-assisted jump.  The purpose of the BAC is to qualify the Soldier in the use of the parachute as a means of combat deployment and to develop leadership, self-confidence, and an aggressive spirit through mental and physical conditioning.

Basic Camp

Basic Camp

The Cadet Summer Training Basic Camp is the premier leadership program of its kind in the United States. An intense four-week introduction to Army life and leadership training of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, the aim of the course is to motivate and qualify Cadets for entry into the Senior ROTC program.  Basic Camp, is designed for college students, typically between their sophomore and junior years. Upon successful completion of the course, graduates can take part in ROTC at their college as a third-year student in the four-year program.

BMMC

Basic Military Mountaineering Course (BMMC)

Trains selected Soldiers in the fundamental knowledge/skills required to successfully conduct small unit operations in typical, mountainous terrain found throughout the world.

CTLT

Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT)

The Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT) track provides Cadets the opportunity to experience leadership in Army Table of Organization and Equipment (TO&E) units over a three to four week period. Cadets serve in lieutenant-level leadership positions in active-duty units. Platoon Leader positions have a 3-4 week duration depending on the hosting unit and location. Assignments include units that are located CONUS and OCONUS. Cadets are assigned a unit mentor and are provided on-post lodging and meals via a Dining Facility. This program is exclusively designed for MS III Cadets before and after completion of CLC.

CDQC

Combat Diver Qualification Course (CDQC)

Training is held at the United States Naval Air Station in Key West, Florida for 4 weeks.  Combat divers are trained in waterborne operations to include day and night ocean subsurface navigation swims, day and night team infiltration dives, deep dives, diving physics, marine hazards, tides and currents, submarine lock-in/lock-out familiarization, and closed-circuit and open-circuit dives.

Interships

Internships

Internships provide MSL III Cadets with an opportunity to exercise specialized language, technical or research skills. Internships range from 3-8 weeks long. Cadets receive an Officer Evaluation Report upon completing the internship.

Nursing students who are also Army ROTC Cadets have an opportunity for a unique summer nursing experience. The paid, three-week Nurse Summer Training Program assigns Cadets to Army hospitals throughout the U.S. and Germany.  NSTP is approximately 120 hours of clinical nursing experience.
