Winter Break Hours and Information

Jacksonville State University will be closed for winter break on Dec. 18-Jan. 2, with offices reopening on Jan. 3. The Spring 2022 semester will begin on Jan. 12. Registration will remain open through Jan. 18. Check the Academic Calendar for upcoming dates and deadlines.
Please review the following hours and information for campus services.
All Sodexo dining locations will be closed Dec. 7-Jan. 11. They will reopen at lunch on Jan. 12 (except for Chick-fil-A, which will open for breakfast that morning). Z Beans is also now closed for the semester. The Red Rooster will be open Dec. 13-17, 12-5 p.m.; closed Dec. 18-Jan. 1; and open Jan. 2-9, 12-5 p.m. Regular operating hours for the Red Rooster, 12-7 p.m., will resume on Jan. 10.
Students may now update meal plans for the spring semester at dining.jsu.edu. Those who fail to do so by Jan. 18 will be defaulted into Plan C, which is 10 meals per week with $400 flex. For assistance, please call 256-782-7242. Unused Flex Dollars from the fall and spring semesters will roll over until the end of the academic year on July 28.
Low on food and funds? The Gamecock Market provides free food and toiletries to students and employees in need. Just complete the Curbside Pickup Form and you will be contacted by a volunteer who will help get what you need. You may also email email@example.com for assistance.
Health and Safety
The RMC/JSU Health Center will be open normal operating hours throughout the break except for Dec. 24-25 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Call 256-782-5310 for assistance.
The University Police Department will continue to serve campus throughout the break. Officers are available 24/7. Call 256-782-5050 for assistance.
Students experiencing a mental health emergency after-hours should contact campus police at 256-782-5050 to be connected with an on-call counselor from the JSU Counseling Center.
The jsuRIDE system will continue to operate until Dec. 17, 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Mail Center and Print Shop
The JSU Mail Center, ID Office and Print Shop will be closed Dec. 18-Jan. 2.
The Campus Bookstore will be closed to in-person shopping Dec. 18-Jan. 2 but online sales will remain available at http://jsu.bncollege.com and shopjsugamecocks.com. The bookstore is hosting a holiday sale for JSU faculty and staff on Dec. 15-17, offering 20 percent off trade books, JSU merch and gifts.
Recreation and Fitness Center
The Rec Center will be open daily through winter break, except for Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 1. Otherwise, the winter break hours through Jan. 9 are Monday-Friday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 12-8 p.m. The full schedule, including hours for the indoor pool, climbing wall and Adventure Rec, are available online.
Houston Cole Library will be open Dec. 13-17, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be closed for winter break Dec. 19-Jan. 3. From Jan. 4 to Jan. 10, the library will be open Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Regular operating hours (including weekends) will resume Jan. 11.
Looking for something to do over the winter break? The Gamecock basketball teams will host several games at Pete Mathews Coliseum over the holidays. Admission is free to students with ID.

- Jan. 4 - Men's Basketball hosts Bellarmine, 6 p.m.
- Jan. 5 - Women's Basketball hosts Bellarmine, 6 p.m.
- Jan. 11 - Men's Basketball hosts Lipscomb, 6 p.m.
- Jan. 12 - Women's Basketball hosts Lipscomb, 6 p.m.
