"Being a First Gen brings me joy. I take a lot of pride and what I have accomplished because this is only the beginning for me. The real journey starts after graduation. I hope to inspire many young adults to pursue their dreams no matter the circumstance."

"I am proud to be an Ambassador of the Applied Engineering Dept. I am proud to be currently employed in my field of work as a Safety Contractor. Last but not least, I am proud to be a soon to be graduate of JSU."

"One piece of advice that I want to share with other first-generation students is to relax and enjoy your college experience, there is a lot of pressure being a first-generation student."

"I am an English learner and even so I am attending university. It is a bit difficult but I am proud that despite not speaking English fluently I am taking this path that only leads me to great things."
