COVID-19 Reminders for Start of Fall 2021
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
Welcome back, Gamecocks! As you arrive on campus, please remember that the risk for COVID-19 remains high in our region. To help the university operate normally this fall, we must all do our part. For now, this means wearing masks indoors and making good choices in social settings. Other ways to help us maintain a safe environment include:
Adhere to Positive Testing Protocol
If you test positive for COVID-19, you will be asked to enter a 10-day isolation. Please complete the Self-Reporting Form as soon as possible to connect with our contact tracers and campus resources.
Adhere to Exposure Protocol
If you were exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, please email your exposure information to covidquestions@jsu.edu to participate in an interview that will determine self-quarantine time.
Report to the JSU/RMC Health Center if Symptoms Develop
If you begin experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, please report to the RMC/JSU Health Center immediately for rapid testing. Appointments and testing are free for students, faculty, and staff.
Get a Vaccine
Talk with your trusted physician or pharmacist and, if you are medically able, get the vaccine as soon as possible. There will be a vaccine clinic on Friday, August 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kennamer Hall. Vaccines are free and the clinic is open to all students, faculty, and staff. Register online.
Take Our Vaccine Survey
This two-question, anonymous survey helps us capture a current snapshot of our campus.
Claim Your Vaccine Incentive
There are funds available for those fully vaccinated by October 15, and you can claim those rewards by completing the Vaccination Incentive Form on MyJSU.
Accept Your Cocky Cares Funds
The university is distributing another round of Higher Education Emergency Relief funding, with amounts varying depending upon filed FAFSA and enrollment status. Eligible students will be emailed more information by the end of the week and must complete an acknowledgement form in order for the funds to be processed.
JSU remains committed to helping each member of our campus community. The latest protocol and information for COVID-19 will be posted regularly at www.jsu.edu/coronavirus. If you have specific COVID related questions, please feel free to email the Task Force at covidquestions@jsu.edu or call 256-782-5282.
