Jax MIX is the nation’s first general education program to embed microcredentials directly into its core curriculum. Centered on human experience, it fosters interdisciplinary connections across academic fields while helping students build targeted competencies and skills through five distinct Jax MIX microcredentials:
Community Engagement: academic coursework and experiential training in identifying community needs, implementing initiatives, and assessing the effectiveness of community interventions
Environment Stewardship: academic coursework and experiential training in discovering interconnections between natural systems and human activities; proposing solutions that balance ecological responsibility and social equity
Ethical Leadership: academic coursework and experiential training in making responsible decisions and understanding and seeking organizational success in contemporary society.
Global Connections: academic coursework and experiential training in engaging in various cultural perspectives, investigating the importance of diverse human identities and conditions, and synthesizing multiple forms of analysis to understand the historical development of cultures worldwide
Media Literacy: academic coursework and experiential training in identifying credible sources, recognizing misinformation, and navigating responsible consumption of a variety of resources, references, and media
