Dr. Celestino Valentin is the current Interim Department Head for the College of Business and Industry, Lyons & Co., Department of Management and Marketing at Jacksonville State University. His educational background includes a (Ph.D.) in Human Resources Development from Texas A&M University in College Station, an (MBA) Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Business from Texas A&M University San Antonio.

 Dr. Valentin has several journal article publications in nationally and internationally recognized journals and has authored several book chapters. His affiliations include Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD), Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) where he served as the Central Region Representative. Academic memberships include Phi Theta Kappa alumni, Delta Mu Delta alumni, and Kappa Delta Pi Alumni at Texas A&M University. 

Dr. Valentin’s research interests include Hispanic Serving Institutions, Human Resource Management, Relational leadership, Organizational Development, Advanced Manufacturing, Construction Management, Project Management, Statistics, Non-Profit Management, Human Resource Development, Leadership, and Business Entrepreneurship. 

My advice for students is that everyone is on an individual educational timeline, and it is ok to start at different times in your life. Life happens, stay safe and be blessed.
