Dr. William T. Fielding earned his BS and MBA degrees at Auburn University and a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of South Carolina.  Dr. Fielding was first employed at Jacksonville State University in 1968.  He served as Department Head in the Finance and Economics Department from 1986 until 1996.  Dr. Fielding  served as Dean of the College of Business and Industry from 1995 until 2019.    Dr. Fielding as a faculty member had a strong interest in international business and public finance.  He taught international finance and international trade and economics courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  He has published in numerous referred journals and is recognized as academically qualified by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Dr. Fielding has worked in small business development since 1967 as a graduate assistant in Auburn University’s Small Business Development.  He has been involved in economic development for many years.
