Ashley Robinson ('10) - Green Cardigan Marketing
By Brittney Kimber
Jax State alumna Ashley Robinson ('10) strategically built her marketing agency, Green Cardigan Marketing, finding her niche after helping a friend who was a criminal defense lawyer. She saw a need for transparent digital marketing for lawyers, driven by data and customized marketing solutions.
"I began working with lawyers as a side hustle," Robinson said. "Law firms are in a very competitive market, and I recognized the need for transparency in the service I was offering."
The Alabama native graduated with a degree in public relations. Her team specializes in digital marketing for law firms across the United States.
"In addition to marketing, it is a priority to me that our clients experience out-of-this-world customer service," Robinson said. "It is my goal that we partner with our clients and are seen as true partners and trusted advisors to help our clients with their firm's marketing strategy. We desire to be more than an agency. We want to come alongside our clients to help ensure they achieve the goals for their firm."
When deciding on the name of her business, Robinson was greatly influenced by her love of golf and her time on the Jax State Women's Golf team. She drew inspiration from golf's rich history of the Green Jacket and holds the same standards of excellence when approaching marketing strategies and client needs.
"I played golf from 2006 to 2010 and had a full scholarship. I played for Coach (James) Hobbs and loved my time at Jax State," Robinson said. "My college experience was different as it was 99% about golf, but I wouldn't change it. I made lifelong friends on my team.
"It was taxing to keep up grades and travel, but it taught me a lot at a young age - time management, what hard work can get you, and just how much you can do if you work at it. I was also able to see so much of the country because of my time at Jax State. We traveled every week to a new state, a new part of the country, and I was able to experience it all with great friends."
Robinson pursued professional golf after college, playing for two years on a mini tour based in Orlando, Florida.
"I am proud of this time in my life. I did not make it as a professional golfer, but I attempted it and am proud of myself for giving it a shot," Robinson said.
When she was new to Jax State, Robinson said she was unsure where she fit in.
"Everyone just knew me as the athlete," Robinson said. "Jax State's incredibly diverse student body completely expanded my world. Meeting people from many different cultures and walks of life empowered me to step out of that single box and figure out who I was outside of sports. I am forever proud of where I came from and the school I graduated from — Jax State was home to me!"
In addition, she encourages students to continue to explore their career path through internships.
"I did an internship my senior year at Jax State, and I am thankful I did," Robinson said. "It was a great way to learn more about my degree practically and experience a real-world setting."
Robinson has helped clients excel in their digital presence. In some instances, clients have seen gross revenue bolstered by 412% month over month. Learn more about Green Cardigan Marketing here.
