The Role of the Department of Human Resources:

Consultant: Coach and guide the University’s Stakeholders:
  • Interpret and implement institutional policies and procedures, local, State and Federal employment laws and regulations 
  • Advise on human resources best practices 
  • Share knowledge, information, and critical thinking processes to achieve mutually agreeable outcomes 

Facilitator: Help to manage processes of information exchange related to human resources functions 

Strategic Business Partner: Focus on long-term implications of HR issues: 
  • Support the Strategic Mission of the University 
  • Provide direction, improve operational efficiency and effectiveness of HR functions 
  • Provide workforce analytics 
  • Serve as a Champion for Diversity
