Jamey Johnson & Friends Jam to Air on Alabama Public Television April 25

04/17/2026

JACKSONVILLE, AL – Audiences across the state will soon have the opportunity to experience one of Jax State’s most memorable nights of music. The Jamey Johnson & Friends Jam, recorded live at the Ernest Stone Performing Arts Center, will premiere on Alabama Public Television on Saturday, April 25, at 8 p.m.

The intimate, guitar pull-style concert featured award-winning country artist Jamey Johnson alongside Randy Owen and Nashville songwriter Rob Hatch, offering a Bluebird Café-style performance in the Stone Center’s 362-seat theatre.

The event also served as a fundraiser for the Randy Owen Center for Performing Arts (ROC), currently under construction and scheduled for completion in late 2025. The concert raised more than $103,000 through sponsorships and ticket sales, supporting the continued growth of arts programming at Jax State.

As momentum continues to build, tickets are now on sale for the grand opening celebration of the Randy Owen Center—Live in Concert: Randy Owen, Alabama, and Friends, set for Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 7 p.m.—an event that will showcase the new space and what it means for the campus and community. For more information about the Randy Owen Center for Performing Arts and how you can support it, visit jsu.edu/roc.

The performance is part of the Jamey Johnson Music Series, launched in 2023 to expand cultural and educational opportunities for Jax State students and the surrounding region. Johnson, who received an honorary doctorate from the university, has played a key role in supporting the institution’s vision for the arts.

The April 25 broadcast allows viewers across Alabama to experience the energy and authenticity of the live performance, while also highlighting the impact of the ROC and the future of performing arts at Jax State.

In addition to airing on Alabama Public Television, the concert will be available to stream on the PBS app across a variety of devices.
