Jacksonville State University Announces 45th Annual Social Work Conference: Training Grounds: Where Resiliency Takes Root

Jacksonville, AL – The Department of Social Work at Jacksonville State University is pleased to host the 45th Annual Jax State Social Work Conference on Friday, March 20, 2026, at the Anniston City Meeting Center. This year's theme, “Training Grounds: Where Resilience Takes Root”, aims to change the narrative for social workers by offering practical tools to develop workforce resiliency. The event welcomes social work practitioners, counselors, nurses, students, faculty, and community partners. Attendees can earn Continuing Education (CEs) to support their professional development (5.5 Social Work CEs, 5.5 Counselor CEs, and 6.75 Nursing CEs.

The conference will feature:

  • Keynote Presentation from Dr. Allan Barsky on Smart Tech, Algorithms, & Social Work Ethics in the Age of AI.
  • Interactive Workshops: Clinical Workshops, Child and Family Workshops, Supervision Workshops, Ethics Workshop, and Lifespan Workshops
  • Networking Opportunities: Platforms for interdisciplinary professionals, educators, and students to connect and share best practices.
