“Completing my bachelor's degree in accounting is truly a dream come true,” said the 21-year-old native of Gadsden. “After years of hard work and dedication, I’m proud to say that I’m officially beginning my career as an accountant.”

This summer, she interned with the Alabama Department of Revenue, an experience that affirmed her preparation and passion. “That experience showed me how well Jax State has prepared me for the real world by providing a strong foundation of accounting knowledge and hands-on learning,” she said.

Though she’s excited to start her career, Dodd will forever remember the years she spent at Jax State. “My time at Jax State has been filled with unforgettable experiences,” she said. “I’ll always cherish the lifelong friendships I’ve made, the personal and academic growth I’ve undergone, and the memories from attending campus events.”

During her time at Jax State, Dodd learned just where she belonged in terms of a career and a future. “One of the most meaningful parts of my journey was realizing how my passion for business and entrepreneurship naturally led me to the field of accounting,” she added.

After graduation, Dodd plans to continue working as an accountant while pursuing her MBA. “I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead,” she said, “and deeply grateful for all that Jax State has done to prepare me for this next chapter.”
