Jax State Partnerships with Area Chambers of Commerce

Jacksonville State University (Jax State) is proud to announce its continued commitment to fostering collaborative partnerships aimed at making a positive impact in communities throughout the surrounding areas.

The university recently renewed their partnerships with The Chamber of Gadsden and Etowah County and the Calhoun County Area Chamber and Visitors Center for another three years, after seeing tremendous success and value in the ongoing partnership initiative. “We’re incredibly grateful for what this opportunity means to our membership…It’s an incredible recruitment opportunity,” said Christi Robinson, President & CEO of the Etowah Chamber. “The MOU between Jax State and the Calhoun County Area Chamber and Visitor Center shows that we are committed to our local economy,” stated Linda Hearn, Executive Director for the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitors Center. “It also shows that we are committed to the local workforce,” Hearn added.

Jax State will sign their 21st partnership into agreement on May 8 when they formalize their MOU with the Rainsville Chamber of Commerce. “I encourage chamber members and their employees to take advantage of this partnership,” said Dr. Don C. Killingsworth, Jr., Jax State President. “Reach out, learn what we have to offer and let us help you navigate your educational journey to earning your degree,” added Killingsworth.

Since launching the corporate partnership program in 2021, Jax State has awarded 648 scholarships to 339 individual students.  Partnerships span various sectors, including education, industry, government, and nonprofit organizations.
