JSU has acquired several hundred doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to enable the university to vaccinate its most vulnerable. Appointments are available on Monday, March 29, and Thursday, April 1, at Kennamer Hall, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., to active employees and currently enrolled students in the following priority groups:
  • 55 years of age or older
  • Essential workers - those working in healthcare, law enforcement, teaching (instructors and staff), transportation, food service, finance, information technology, media, communications, legal, and public safety
  • Individuals with serious underlying health conditions - cancer, chronic kidney disease, COPD, heart conditions (heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies), immunocompromised state, solid organ transplant, obesity (BMI greater than 30), pregnant, Sickle Cell disease, Type 1 and 2 diabetes
Students, faculty and staff will receive an email on March 26 providing a registration link through JSU’s EventBrite account. Please do not register for a vaccine unless you are among the priority groups listed above.
