Department of Nursing Now Offering Online Programs in Tennessee

06/11/2018

The JSU Department of Nursing is now offering online RN to BSN, master’s and doctorate programs to Tennessee residents.

This opportunity came about when JSU applied for the opportunity to open the nursing program up to Tennessee earlier this year and was approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing in May.

“Recently, JSU Nursing has seen an increase in inquiries from Tennessee about our quality, online nursing programs,” said JSU Assistant Professor of Nursing Windon Edge, DNP, RN. “With this initial approval from the Tennessee Board of Nursing, we can now begin to accommodate nurses in the state of Tennessee seeking to advance their nursing careers. It appears that JSU Nursing’s reputation for offering top-quality, affordable nursing education has attracted nurses from other parts of the country as they seek online options for advancing in their profession.”

The approval enables JSU to offer Tennessee residents the RN to BSN program, Master’s in Population Health with concentrations in Nursing Education and Emergency Management options, Post-Masters Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and a BSN to DNP program with two Nurse Practitioner options. Tennessee students may now register for the Fall 2018 semester.
