Campus to Delay Opening Until 10:30 AM on January 8

The National Weather Service has placed Calhoun, Etowah, Cherokee and Cleburne Counties under a Winter Weather Advisory from 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday, January 8. Light freezing rain is expected, with light glazing on bridges, trees and power lines.

Jacksonville State University will delay opening on Monday until 10:30 a.m. to give employees the opportunity to arrive safely at work. Spring classes were already not scheduled to begin until Tuesday.

Spring Orientation scheduled for Monday, January 8, will also be delayed. Check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the program will start at 11 a.m.
