Following executive session, the board passed three resolutions which included:

  • Honoring former JSU basketball coach Bill Jones, who will soon become the eighth inductee into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Coach Jones is the winningest basketball coach in JSU history.
  • Thanking Ken and Jenny Howell for their generous support of the university, including their contributions to the creation of a new 21st century learning-centered classroom in the School of Business and Industry. Room 104 in Merrill Hall will be named in their honor.
