Scheduled Power Outage Friday Afternoon

A scheduled power outage is planned for this afternoon, May 5, starting at 2:20 p.m., to repair a bad voltage regulator at the university's substation. While the outage is not expected to last more than 20 minutes, campus should plan for up to an hour of service disruption.

All campus buildings except for the following will be affected: Meehan Hall, Alumni House, Honor's House, Information Center, Fort McClellan Building 3181, Development House, Colonial Arms, Penn House, Campus Inn Apartments, Jax Apartments and College Apartments.

It is highly recommended that faculty and staff save all work and shut down computers and equipment prior to the outage. While Telecommunications does not expect phone lines to be impacted by the power interruption, be sure to have personal cellphones charged and on standby in case any emergencies should arise during the outage.
