Retired Chief Security Officer for the CDC to Visit Campus

JSU alumnus Thomas Madden – former Chief Information Security Officer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta – will visit JSU’s campus on Oct. 14 to discuss “Cyber Security: Why We Can’t Win” from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Ayers Hall, Room 355. Come learn more about the current state of cyber security at this free public talk presented by the JSU Center for Information Security and Assurance.

Madden holds a BS in business administration and an MPA from Jacksonville State. He is a nationally recognized expert in developing information security programs and a regular featured speaker at the SecureWorld conference. In 2006, he was presented the US Government Information Security Leadership Award (GISLA) by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium. He stays involved with his alma mater by serving as a mentor to JSU students.
