JSU IT Continues to Work on Wireless Access
09/14/2015
The JSU IT department continues to work on repairing the wireless network. Recent troubleshooting efforts with the hardware manufacturer and its engineers have led to some discoveries that will hopefully produce a resolution soon. Although there are no guarantees, IT is hopeful that - with the help of technology partner, Motorola - they can have the wireless network operational by Tuesday evening.
Currently, ethernet connectivity is operational, making computer access in offices and computer labs available. Due to wireless connectivity issues - which limit students’ ability to complete assignments, especially on Blackboard - the provost has asked faculty to consider this temporary internet outage and make adjustments as needed to accommodate students without Internet access.
The university apologizes for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused and is dedicating its full resources to resolving the matter as soon as possible.
