Competition Heats Up for Mr. & Miss. JAX State and Mr. & Miss. Friendly

The hunt is on for the next Mr. & Miss. Jax State and Mr. & Miss. Friendly! JSU students vying for these titles are campaigning now. Elections will take place on March 12, with the online polling open from 12:01 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mr. & Mrs. Jax State are said to best represent the spirit of JSU, while those elected Mr. & Miss. Friendly best embody the university’s motto, “Friendliest Campus in the South.”

Meet the candidates for 2015:

Mr. JAX State

Tucker Halbrooks: Member of Sigma Nu fraternity and Alpha Phi Omega.

Rajon Hudson: Member of Alpha Kappa Psi, chapter president of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., and a JSU Peer Educator.

Ranger Rumrill: President of Freshman Forum, a candidate for Sigma Nu and an SGA Senator.

Miss. JAX State

Kalyn Cabral: VP of Student Activities for the SGA, president of the Student Activities Council, and a member of PRSSA and Zeta Tau Alpha.

Lora Clayburn: A JSU Ambassador and a member of Phi Mu, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

Cole Freeman: A member of Alpha Omicron Pi, Outdoor Adventure Club and the Earth Club.

Madeline Jorges: A GO! Leader and member of Delta Zeta, Leadership House for Women, the Student Alumni Association and the Family and Consumer Sciences Club. 

Marjory Lin: An SGA Senator and Spanish conversation partner for the Spanish Club.

Savanna Parsons: A Marching Ballerina and member of Alpha Xi Delta.

Mr. Friendly

Brian Yopp: A member of Sigma Alpha Pi, Engage JSU and the Jacksonville Association of Nursing Students.

Trent Ford: Active in SGA and the JSU Honors Program; member of Sigma Alpha Pi.

Miss. Friendly

Cassady Gwin: A member of Phi Mu and the Outdoor Adventure Club.

Danielle Moss: A member of the track and field team, NAACP, Delta Sigma Theta, and the NCAA Student Athletic Advisory Committee.

Sadie Gregory: A JSU Ambassador and a member of Phi Mu, Phi Eta Sigma and Kappa Mu Epsilon.

Diamond Ford: AJSU Ambassador and is executive assistant to the SGA president.

Malin Barber: A member of Freshman Forum, SGA Senate and the collegiate legislature.

Gena Baker: President of Zeta Tau Alpha, vice president of Beta Beta Beta biology honor society, and a member of the Student Activities Council. 

Roxanne Bailey: Secretary of Delta Zeta, an SGA Senator, resident assistant, and member of Engage JSU.
