Dr. Richards Davis Receives Prestigious Appointment

11/05/2014

JSU's Dr. Richards Davis, department head for the criminal justice department, was recently elected as 2nd Vice President and member of the Executive Board for the International Society of Crime Prevention Practitioners. The Executive Board and Board of Directors was elected last week as a part of the 32nd International Crime Prevention Symposium. The newly elected board has members from the United States, Canada, Israel and the Philippines. The first part of the week the ISCPP conducted training for seventeen police officers and loss prevention practitioners from Michigan and Canada. Davis was one of the instructors for the class. The training allows officers and practitioners to earn the "International Crime Prevention Specialist" designation upon successful completion of the class and test. The ICPS training is currently offered in the United States, Canada, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and India with plans to expand to Australia soon.

JSU would like to congratulate Dr. Davis on this prestigious appointment.
