Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority to Host Annual Recruitment Tea

06/11/2014

The sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at Jacksonville State University will host their eighth annual ZTA Recruitment Tea on Saturday, June 21, 2014, from 1:00-3:00 in the afternoon, at Classic on Noble Restaurant located at 1024 Noble Street in historic downtown Anniston, Alabama.

All women who are interested in learning more about Sorority Life at JSU are invited to attend. Interested women may RSVP and direct any questions to the ZTA Membership Chairman, Hailey Scott, at hscott1@jsu.edu or (256) 557-3417

The ZTA Recruitment Tea is not only a great way to learn about Sorority Life, but it’s also a way for new students to meet experienced JSU students who can share the best classes to take and even tips on what to bring for your dorm room! Plus, meeting the Zetas will create friendly faces for new students all over campus this fall.

Parents of prospective members are especially encouraged to attend with their daughters and will enjoy a special informational session about Zeta Tau Alpha and Sorority Life with our alumnae advisors. This session is designed to give parents the information they want to know: how do sororities work, what are the costs, what is the time commitment, and are the myths about sororities true?

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded at Longwood University in Virginia in 1898, and is now third largest among the 26 national Panhellenic sororities, with 248 collegiate ZTA chapters, 242 ZTA alumnae organizations, and over 228,835 members worldwide. Zeta Psi Chapter at JSU was chartered in 1969. This past year, ZTA at JSU was awarded the President’s Gold Cup and was recognized for the highest sorority GPA, with a 3.28 chapter average for the Spring 2014 semester. In addition, they raised almost $35,000 for their national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, placing them in 17th place for fundraising among all ZTA chapters nationally.

Zeta Tau Alpha will participate in JSU’s Panhellenic Recruitment of new members August 14-18, 2014, and encourages all unaffiliated women to register for Formal Recruitment through the JSU Student Life website.
