To Move Ahead, We Must Fast Forward-- Blitz Begins for JSU's New Quality Enhancement Plan

These are just a few places you can learn how to Fast Forward over the next few weeks.

This is no crash course in how to use your VCR or DVR. Instead, some of our faculty and staff are setting out on a marketing blitz to make sure that the entire campus knows about JSU’s Fast Forward Quality Enhancement Plan.

What exactly is our Quality Enhancement Plan and why is it so important?

A Quality Enhancement Plan is a new requirement of our accrediting body, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, as we go through our reaffirmation this spring. 

Jacksonville State University's new Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) is Fast Forward: Using 21st Century Tools to Promote Critical Thinking.

Goals of Fast Forward are to increase students' critical thinking skills and confidence using technology to analyze and solve problems, to increase our teachers' confidence in the use of technology, and to promote new teaching methodologies through professional development and faculty mentoring.  

Fast Forward will begin during the Fall 2014 semester with the training of faculty who teach freshmen classes. In Fall 2015, freshmen enrolled in select courses will receive Apple iPads to use while attending JSU.

We are very excited about this initiative as we strive to give our students the tools and skills that will propel them toward future success.
