The University Police Department would like to invite all members of JSU’s emergency response teams to attend a tabletop exercise concentrating on JSU’s emergency response and evacuation procedures. Throughout the year UPD and University Housing conduct numerous evacuation drills for the student population in preparation for an emergency. This specific exercise will allow University employees, students, and departments to participate and demonstrate their response to a potential emergency event.
UPD encourages all faculty, staff, and students to review standard response and evacuation protocols in the JSU Emergency Operations Plan at http://www.jsu.edu/police/docs/jsueop.pdf. The exercise is scheduled for December 12th in room 1101-B of the Houston Cole Library. There will be two training session offered:
- 10AM till Noon
- 1PM till 3:00PM
We will also offer the 1-hour training session concerning “UPD’s Services and Crime Prevention” for those departments that were unable to attend our Fall 2012 training. This training class will also be on December 12th in room 1101-B of the Houston Cole Library from 3PM till 4PM. Please email Melonie Carmichael with your time/class preference.
